The image shows three more prints spotted in store (excuse the pun).

These two designs are much more than a dot. The design on the left was made by superstar designer Michelle Gemmell. Michelle has been freelancing for Design Union for over 18 years. She is truly an amazing artist.

This translucent layered shaded abstract design of the print, inspired by mid-century interior sculpture, was originally made on a white ground. At Design Union we usually offer a colour alternative to each design, which we put on the back of the header. As we work globally, clients need different seasons and often as we’re working on a piece of artwork there’s more than one colour solution, so we print it, small scale on silk to offer more value.

The textured blue dot design on the right was made by Poppy Tuckley. Poppy is the most brilliant designer. Innovative, unique, always coming up with new ideas. Poppy used a cyanotype technique to make this artwork, painting onto a textured crepe paper and then developing it so it has a shadowed photogram feel with an almost shibori-type stripe effect texture, going through.
