Print Concept Textile View Magazine Issue 127
Design Union were commissioned to produce a print forecast, ‘Let Go…Summer Print Sketchbook’.
The season is about having fun and letting go, water, heat, surviving the hotbed of ecological and political crisis, cooling down with still lives, iced, preserving nature.
Humanity has been addicted to having so much that we find that we no longer want anything.
We have even more passion now for our gardens and living in green so we should let nature dictate the colours in co-creation of relaxed prints that seem as if the plants have simply put themselves there.
Flowers are light and suspended in ice or pressed into fabric, flattened for preservation, silhouettes and photograms.
Give up fixed positions and trust in the creative process.
