Who we are
Design Union needs to gather certain information about individuals that we have a relationship with and may need to contact, this includes: clients, suppliers, freelancers and other interested parties.
This policy describes how this personal data is collected, handled, stored and protected to meet current data protection standards and to comply with the law.
We only use this data to inform interested parties of our business activities and do not resell or transfer this information to any third-party businesses for marketing purposes.
Why we need your information and how we use it
We rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
• as needed to provide our services, such as when we use your information to provide design services, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
• when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for our mailing list;

• as necessary for the purpose of our legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving our services. We use your information to provide the services you requested and in our legitimate interest to improve our services.

Cookies
Our website may use cookies to collect information and personalise your experience on our www.design-union.co.uk . Cookies are small text files that can be used by websites to make a user’s experience more efficient.
Google Analytics
When someone visits www.design-union.co.uk we use Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour. We do this to find out information such as the number of visitors to our site, and the locations from which they are visiting. This data is collected anonymously and we do not make any attempt, or allow Google to make any attempt, to identify those who are visiting our website. Google Analytics uses the following cookies to achieve this - _utma, _utmc, _utmz, _utmt, __utmb.
Mailing List
We use YMLP, a third-party provider to deliver our newsletter. For our mailing list we retain the following information: your full name, email address, company name, and the country that you operate/reside in. We also gather information about email opening habits and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor you and improve our e-newsletters. Dropbox & LiveDrive
We may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, we may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If we are deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, we rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Dropbox, LiveDrive and other services we use are Privacy Shield certified.

How do we collect your information?
If you purchase or have purchased a design from Design Union, sign up to our mailing list, enquire or apply for an open freelance position, or otherwise contact us, we will hold information on you.
Data will be stored for up to 10 years.
Access to your personal information
You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to hello@design-union.co.uk.
We comply with the GDPR and any data held by us is held on the following basis provided in the GDP: Consent, Contract, Legal Obligation, Vital Interests, Public task or legitimate interest and is only such data-typically name, email, phone number and address – necessary for us to contact you and payment details if we pay money to you.
